We only use premium components from trusted global partners, offer genuine after-sales support, and have a passionate team that genuinely cares about powering Ghana sustainably. Our motto — "Dignity of Man Through Labor" — reflects our belief that quality work transforms lives.

4. Is Autostan Technology certified?

Yes. Our installation team is trained and certified in solar system design and installation. We work with certified electricians for all wiring and electrical work, ensuring compliance with Ghana's electrical safety standards and international best practices.

Solar Systems & Installation

5. What types of solar systems do you install?

We install three main types of solar systems. On-grid systems connect to the ECG/utility grid and allow net metering — you can sell surplus power back. Off-grid systems are fully independent and rely on battery storage, ideal for rural areas or backup power. Hybrid systems combine both — they're grid-connected but also have batteries for backup, giving you the best of both worlds.

6. How long does a solar installation take?

Most residential solar installations are completed within 1–3 days. Larger commercial or industrial projects typically take 1–4 weeks depending on the scale and complexity. We'll give you a clear timeline during your consultation before any work begins.

7. How many solar panels do I need?

The number of panels depends on your energy consumption, the size of the system, panel wattage, and available roof or ground space. During our free site assessment, we'll analyse your ECG bills, assess your loads, and design a system that covers your specific energy needs. Standard residential systems in Ghana typically range from 4 to 20 panels.

8. What brands of solar panels do you supply?

We partner with leading international brands including Galaxy Solar, JA Solar, JSD Solar, and Restar Solar. Our panels range from 300W to 700W per unit and use advanced TOPCon technology offering 22–24% cell efficiency and 25–30-year performance warranties.

9. Do solar panels work during cloudy or rainy days?

Yes — solar panels still generate electricity on cloudy or overcast days, though at reduced output (typically 10–30% of peak production). In Ghana's climate with 5–6 peak sun hours daily, even with seasonal rain and cloud cover, your system will generate strong annual yields. Battery storage also ensures you have power during low-sunlight periods.

10. Can solar power my entire home or business?

Absolutely. A correctly sized solar system can fully power your home, office, or business — including air conditioning units, refrigerators, computers, heavy machinery, and more. During our energy audit, we assess all your appliances and design a system that covers 100% of your requirements.

Costs, Savings & ROI

11. How much does a solar system cost in Ghana?

Solar system costs vary depending on system size, brand of components, and installation complexity. A basic residential off-grid system can start from GHS 15,000–30,000, while a fully equipped hybrid system for a medium-sized home ranges from GHS 40,000–100,000+. Commercial systems are priced based on energy demand. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote tailored to your specific needs.

12. How much money can I save on electricity bills?

Most of our residential clients reduce their ECG electricity bills by 70–100% after installing a solar system. Commercial clients typically save 60–90%. The exact savings depend on your current consumption and system size. Over a 10-year period, many clients save 3–5x the initial investment cost in avoided electricity costs.

13. What is the payback period for a solar investment?

The typical payback period in Ghana is 3–6 years for residential installations and 4–8 years for commercial projects, depending on system size, electricity tariff rates, and energy usage. Given that quality solar panels last 25–30 years, you'll enjoy 20+ years of virtually free electricity after recouping your investment.

14. Do you offer payment plans or financing options?

Yes, we understand that the upfront cost can be a barrier. We work with clients to find flexible payment arrangements. Contact our team to discuss options — we're committed to making clean energy accessible to as many Ghanaians as possible.

Batteries & Inverters

15. What type of batteries do you use?

We primarily use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, which are the gold standard for solar storage. They offer a 5,000–10,000 cycle lifespan (10+ years), 95% depth of discharge, fast charging capability, and are far safer and more efficient than traditional lead-acid batteries. For budget-conscious projects, we can also supply lead-acid options.

16. How long will my batteries last at night?

Battery backup duration depends on your battery bank capacity and how much energy you consume after dark. We size your battery bank during the design phase to ensure it can comfortably power your essential loads through the night (typically 8–12 hours) or longer if needed. We also factor in consecutive cloudy days as buffer.

17. What inverter brands do you supply?

We supply high-quality inverters from Deye and Galaxy Energy. Our inverter range includes hybrid inverters (6–15.4 kW), microinverters (0.5–2.8 kW), and industrial-grade units. These inverters achieve efficiency ratings of 97–99%, support 18–150V MPPT input range, and operate in temperatures from -20°C to +50°C — ideal for Ghana's climate.

18. Can I expand my solar system later?

Yes. We design our systems with scalability in mind. You can add more solar panels, increase battery storage, or upgrade your inverter as your energy needs grow. We recommend discussing your future expansion plans during the initial consultation so we can design the system infrastructure to accommodate future growth easily.

Maintenance & Warranty

19. How often does a solar system need maintenance?

Solar systems are remarkably low-maintenance. We recommend a full preventive maintenance check every 6–12 months, which includes panel cleaning, connection inspections, battery checks, inverter diagnostics, and performance optimisation. In dusty environments like Accra, quarterly panel cleaning can improve output by 10–15%.

20. Do solar panels come with a warranty?

Yes. The panels we supply come with a 10-year product warranty and a 25–30-year performance warranty (guaranteeing at least 80% output after 25 years). Inverters typically carry a 5-year warranty, and batteries come with 2–5 years depending on the brand and model. We also handle all warranty claims with the manufacturer on your behalf.

21. What happens to my system when the power grid goes off?

With a hybrid or off-grid system, your home or business automatically switches to battery power the moment the grid goes down — with zero interruption. The transition is seamless and instant. On-grid-only systems without batteries will switch off during outages for safety reasons; this is why we recommend hybrid systems in Ghana where grid reliability can be inconsistent.

22. Do you provide after-sales support?

Absolutely. After-sales support is a cornerstone of what we do. We offer 24/7 remote monitoring, emergency troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance visits, and a dedicated WhatsApp support line. Our relationship with clients doesn't end at installation — it's just the beginning.

Getting Started

23. How do I get started with Autostan Technology?

Getting started is simple. Just contact us via WhatsApp, phone, or email, or fill in the quote form on this page. We'll arrange a free site visit and energy consultation, design a system for your specific needs, present a transparent quotation, and once you approve, we'll schedule the installation.

24. Do I need permission from ECG or the government to install solar?

For off-grid and hybrid systems without grid connection, no ECG permit is typically required. For on-grid systems that connect to the ECG grid and use net metering, an application to the Electricity Company of Ghana is required. Our team handles all the necessary documentation and regulatory requirements on your behalf as part of the installation package.

25. How do I contact Autostan Technology?
